Art Deco: Alexandre Vassiliev

by - October 20, 2014

Art deco was a period of great experimentation and drastic changes in women's fashion and personal lives. It was very shocking for old-fashioned people. For the first time female cut their hair short, showed off their legs and started to enjoy life.

Last week, something amazing was opened to the public at local art museum in Tallinn, KUMU.

A Moveable Feast. Art Deco Fashion Design from Alexandre Vassiliev's Collection.

You can enjoy 80 breathtaking haute couture dresses from well known fashion houses such as Vionnet.  And 200  accessories with paintings and photos.
Exhibition is based on the collection of Alexandre Vassiliev, a fashion historian, interior designer and scenographer well known in Europe.

I can guarantee, this exhibition is definitely the most glamorous and extravagant we have had here in Estonia. I have never seen so many people on  Sunday evening at a museum. It was seriously difficult to get some decent photos.

I just have to mention, the exhibition was curated by my seriously talented course mate - Marion Piirmets!
